Outings are an important element of some residents quality of life. This example of a visit to the Mumbles by three of the residents is an example of type of activity. Although having lived in Barry for all of her life one resident remarked that this had been the first time she had visited the Mumbles.
College Fields has its own minibus and this is used to enable these events to take place. It has been professionally adapted to enable two wheelchair bound residents to be safely transported in their chairs and another transferred to one of the seats.
On these trips residents are supported with a one to one nurse or carer.
There is also room for all the necessary support equipment, oxygen cylinders and such like to accompany them on trips.
Quality of life is an important part of the care and every effort is made to ensure that residents enjoy life to the full.
