Left over cakes go to a good cause
After so much effort by so many and more cakes than buyers, the surplus cakes were taken to the Salvation Army Homeless Hostel in Cardiff where they were welcomed with open arms by staff and the residents. Who can blame them when they looked so delicious. As ever College Fields was happy to spread their good fortune of help to those elsewhere in need.
Christmas fair is a family affair.
No generation problems at the Christmas fair with four generations from one family present. Also an abundance of things to see and buy including delicious home made cakes and other produce. As can be seen from the photos residents and their families and friends met up to enjoy the start of the Christmas period. Tea and cakes were enjoyed in the dining room together with the home made pasties of different flavours.
Stall with bric a brac, jewellery, tombola stall and the raffle all added to the atmosphere. The two raffles were well supported too. Perhaps the best bit of the raffle was watching Zac with his amazing Christmas clown below. The knitted clown, Cheeky, was made by Lyndsay Howell, one of our care staff who works on the ground floor.
In all over £600 was raised for the resident treats over Christmas.
Thank you to everyone who made an effort to provide the goodies and those who spent their money to make it all worthwhile.
